Position Summary
The SQL Database Developer is a full-time position in our Software Development group. The SQL Database Developer works primarily with development and administration of MS SQL Server databases, with a secondary emphasis on software development using Visual Studio. The successful candidate must be keenly aware of deadlines and the need to deliver a quality product. Being a small team, versatility in skills and thinking are essential.

Essential Functions / Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Ability to write and debug Transact-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers
• MS SQL Server 2008/2005/2000 administration using both visual tools and command line
• Experience developing web applications in Visual Studio or similar
• Participate in product design, estimates and timelines
• Write and maintain technical and functional specifications
• Daily attendance and participation in stand-up meetings
• Perform other duties as required
• Must be able to commute to and work in an office environment

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
• In-depth knowledge of relational database design, performance optimization, security and monitoring best practices
• Expert Transact-SQL skills
• Knowledge of C#,VBScript, JavaScript with jQuery
• Experience working on small team projects using source control, code review, continuous integration and automated testing
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Prefer experience in payment processing, banking, medical or other industry where high application and data security are required
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Good verbal and writing skills
• Self-directed, detail oriented, creative problem solver
