- Convenience Fee Amounts
- Section 5.2.E specifies that the convenience fee must be applicable to all forms of payment accepted in the alternative payment channel. For example, Visa merchants can’t charge one convenience fee for card payments and a different convenience fee for ACH draft payments.
- Individual Merchant Account
- Section 5.4.B.2.a specifies that each merchant must have an individual merchant account. Merchant accounts may not be held by a third party.
- Maximum Transaction Amounts
- Section 5.2.F of the Visa regulations states that a merchant must not establish a minimum or maximum Transaction amount as a condition for honoring a Visa Card. This means that variable price items are not allowed to have a maximum amount required for purchase.

- According to section 5.2.E, merchants may only charge a convenience fee that is a fixed or flat amount regardless of the amount of the payment due. Merchants who charge a percent based convenience fees are in violation of Visa's requirements.
