The
company that started out as Thorson & Associates and eventually evolved
into RevTrak, Inc. is still a privately held company and is thriving.
“Greg
and I came out of the big corporate world run by Wall Street and we’d had
enough of that. We left that world
to serve customers in a non-corporate way.
We believe in doing things right and taking care of clients in a way
that we want to be taken care of,” adds Dave.
RevTrak
was the first to introduce software to process payments for the K12 market
and the first to provide a web payment solution to accept all school
fees. Today, 1 in 12 districts (U.S.
school districts with over 1,000 students) use RevTrak as their payment
processor.
The
success of the company is due to the culture established in the
beginning. Kevin Jenson, a long-time
employee of RevTrak who provides first-level client support, describes his
experience at RevTrak, “RevTrak has a lot of clients that have been with us
a long time and I enjoy the two-way relationships that I have developed
with them over the years. I have
clients that I have worked with who were afraid to try things with the
software and are now comfortable doing things they didn’t think they could
do.”
RevTrak
has a corporate culture and core values employees are proud to be a part of
and exemplify: being trustworthy, taking care of our own (clients and
employees), and solving problems.
RevTrak employees live their values both inside and outside of
work. They are active in their
community, serving everywhere from soup kitchens to local church boards.
Editor’s Note:
Having
been here a year, I can attest to the fact that RevTrak is a unique place
to work. Employees are carefully
chosen to ensure that they are not only a good fit for the position but
also will fit into and support the culture.
Employees are set up to succeed from day one with their cubes,
computers, and phones ready. It’s
amazing to find out when you get here that they took the time to get ready
for you. You can’t help but think,
“Wow, they really care about me.”
RevTrak cultivates an environment in which the attitude, “That’s not
my job,” is non-existent. If you ask
a colleague for help and they can’t help you, they will find someone who
can. It is clear to me that I work
with a group of people who care not only about being good citizens inside
of RevTrak but outside of RevTrak as well.
